About Research Group

Presently, Prof. P. Sumathi's Research group is working on vision based advanced driver assistance systems, Deep learning based perception module design, Design and development of capacitive sensors, Integration of resistance and capacitance measurement systems. The research group also works on synchronization techniques, parameter estimation, sliding spectrum analysis, multi-component AM-FM decomposition, and instrumentation. Much of the work has been focused on developing sliding filter based synchronization techniques for various applications and implementing them as system-on-chip devices with FPGA. These applications include ultrasonic range finder, vibration measurement, capacitance measurement and flexible-link manipulator control. In addition, research group developed algorithms for seismic signals attribute extraction through time-frequency representation for damage detection of buildings.
